After he left school and he joined the Royal Fleet Auxiliary. On leaving the service he worked in the security industry where he was a door supervisor and security guard.
Jonathan now works with his family business trading Celtic and Welsh jewellery and giftware across Wales. He is currently studying a degree in International Studies and training to be a Coastguard Search and Rescue Officer.
Commenting on the selection, Welsh Liberal Democrats Assembly Member, Peter Black said: “Jonathan is a local man with strong connections to the Bridgend constituency. He is a hard-worker and has already shown that he is prepared to stand up and fight for his local community. He will make an excellent Assembly Member for Bridgend.
Jonathan Pratt added: “I thoroughly believe politicians should always be available for the concerns of their constituents. I am saddened by how difficult it is to get in contact with Carwyn Jones as a constituent.
“My hope is to bring national politics to the local level and work for the better of all constituents regardless of any political allegiances. I look forward to forming a strong team with Peter Black and work for the betterment of this constituency.”
